WildArk is proud to announce the continuation of our long-standing partnership with premium ice cream brand NUII, as they join forces with global actor and environmental advocate Jason Momoa to shine a spotlight on the urgent plight of Australia’s koalas.
Earlier this year, Momoa visited the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital in Queensland — one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world — to meet the dedicated team working tirelessly to save and rehabilitate koalas. His visit, documented in an upcoming short film, captures the vital role NUII’s funding plays in providing medical equipment that diagnoses and treats disease threatening koala survival, helping rehabilitated koalas return to the wild.
Koalas, once a familiar sight along Australia’s east coast, are now officially endangered in Queensland, NSW, and the ACT, facing mounting threats from habitat destruction, climate change, and widespread disease. Since 2020, NUII has donated over $300,000 through WildArk to support koala health programs, particularly in disease management and treatment.
NUII’s commitment to conservation is woven into their adventurous brand DNA. With Australian Macadamia & Salted Caramel as their best-selling flavour, the brand has embraced its Australian connection by supporting the protection of one of the country’s most iconic species.
Momoa’s ambassadorship will feature across NUII’s global marketing campaign in 14 countries, helping to inspire millions to learn about and support koala conservation.
