We are incredibly excited to announce our partners We are incredibly excited to announce our partnership with @kapitiicecream to support the @docgovtnz's project to Save the Titi Colony from Extinction on Kapiti Island, New Zealand.

Titi or Sooty Shearwater are a taonga (treasure) to local iwi and are under threat from another Taonga (and native species), the weka bird.

The Department of Conservation is working on a 3-year project to save the colony which is on the brink of collapse.

This project will identify ways to reduce predation by weka and experiment with novel exclusion methods, supported by robust monitoring of nesting success over several seasons.

At the same time, it explores the indigenous knowledge about each of these species, their history on Kāpiti and how that Mātauranga Māori can guide long term management.

Mesmerising words by @michelledeborahhenley from Mesmerising words by @michelledeborahhenley from @elephantsalive: The herd quickens their pace as they smell water. The dust rises from their shuffling feet. Despite their great thirst, the older cows will always wait for the youngsters. They will floppy-run all together to reach the water's edge. In their wake, the dust turns to gold in the fading light. The ebb and flow of their movements as a family are tied in with the changing of the seasons. An individual's need becomes that of the family. Elephants personify unity, solidarity, and care for one another. Maybe that is why their paths are sprinkled with gold dust and their lives shine like the star-studded skies at night. Africa and its elephants will remain one of the greatest miracles and blessings to behold. Long may we share the planet with these special creatures!

WildArk and @aussieark are incredibly excited to a WildArk and @aussieark are incredibly excited to announce our #KoalaRewildingProject in partnership with @nuii_icecream_global and @connoisseuricecream on Mongo Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, NSW, Australia.

Koalas face numerous threats and have recently been listed as Endangered in NSW, Queensland and ACT.

The #KoalaRewildingProject is a captive Koala breeding program for wild release on our 1500 hectare property, 30km from the world heritage Mallanganee National Park.

"We all want to save koalas from becoming extinct in the wild, but the battle is being lost. A model of captive to wild is a critical step to replenish wild populations and keep this species in the wild," says Aussie Ark president Tim Faulkner.

9 TASMANIAN DEVIL JOEYS BORN IN THE WILD FOR SECON 9 TASMANIAN DEVIL JOEYS BORN IN THE WILD FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!

We are celebrating the birth of 9 Tasmanian Devils born in the wild on mainland Australia for the second year in a row!

WildArk is proud to partner with @aussieark and @rewild and the arrival of these pint-sized carnivores is an important moment in the organisations' #DevilComeback campaign.

In 2020, 28 Tassie Devils were released into the Barrington Wildlife Sanctuary. Successful breeding of Tasmanian Devils in the wild on mainland Australia, was confirmed last year for the first time in 3000 years. This year's season was critical in determining the long-term success of the program, and the confirmation of 9 joeys already in pouch is a significant result!

Torrents of red and silver fish streamed past my l Torrents of red and silver fish streamed past my lens, parting in curtains to make way for a small band of Galapagos sea lions. I had to fight to keep my camera steady against the formidable currents as I tried to take in as much of the chaotic scene unfolding around me as possible. Every aspect of life in Ecuador's most famous archipelago is a celebration of our planet’s extraordinary biodiversity; endangered hammerheads congregate in massive schools, penguins preen themselves on rocky perches, and marine iguanas graze along the ocean floor. Even after weeks of working within the marine park, I still felt there was more to explore. I cannot wait to return someday to see the impacts of expanding the preserve, helping even more of the area’s marine wildlife flourish. It makes me hopeful for the future as we work to protect 30% of our oceans within the decade to help our living planet thrive.
