Video: The Nature of War

Exploring the complex relationship between conflict and conservation in post war Colombia.

A short film that reveals how nature was safeguarded during the 53-year war between the FARC (guerillas) and the Colombian government. Five hundred thousand square kilometers of jungle, home to substantial biodiversity, in the northern and southwestern regions of Colombia remained untouched, providing shelter and protection to guerilla armed forces.

In 2017 the FARC and the Colombian government signed a peace treaty. While this is a welcome end to decades of horrific violence, what will it mean for Colombia’s precious biodiversity?
